Practical guide
How to Report a Power Cut Using Your Service Number
Find the consumer number on your bill, document the outage and follow up through official support channels.
Find your service number
Look for the service connection or consumer number on a recent electricity bill. Use it only with official utility channels and avoid sharing it publicly.
Record the outage
Note your locality, nearest landmark, the time supply stopped and whether neighbouring streets are affected. Keep away from damaged electrical equipment.
Contact the utility
Use TNPDCL’s current official support channels, including the 1912 helpline. Confirm contact details on the official utility website because procedures may change.
Save the acknowledgement
If a complaint is registered, save its reference number, date and time, and any restoration estimate for follow-up.
Report hazards immediately
Stay away from fallen wires, sparks, leaning poles and flooded electrical equipment. Warn others from a safe distance and report the hazard.
Check local information
Visit today’s shutdown list, tomorrow’s list or browse Tamil Nadu district pages. Confirm time-sensitive information with official TNPDCL notices.
